It is so easy to love and long for the praises and recognition that come our way. I wish I always reflected the glory away from myself when I am offered credit or receive praise.
Sometimes I do need the encouragement and it is certainly important to encourage one another and give each other accolades when they are deserved. But it is equally true that none of us deserve any credit without God’s help, others influence, and a whole bunch of circumstances that have worked out just the right way. So next time the spotlight shines on you just think…reflect it…don’t absorb it.
