“The first and often only person to be healed by forgiveness is the person who does the forgiveness. …When we genuinely forgive, we set a prisoner free and then discover that the prisoner we set free was us.” Lewis Smedes
I have been learning lately about the wonder and power of forgiveness. It is truly only possible to forgive when you know God's forgiveness for you. It is an unreasonable, unfathomable, unnatural kind of thing. It is a glorious, freeing, scandalous thing. Of course there are warnings like forgiveness is not the same thing as pardon which are not worth getting into here. Suffice it to say, you will need to learn the wonderful power of forgiveness at some point in your life. Now would be a great time to start and the best place to start is to invite God to teach you how He forgives you.
