Ever say to yourself you ought to have a special occasion? Spend some extra money, leave the housework for another day or enjoy an extra piece of cake.
The only problem is that we have a tendancy to start to think these things are normal. We even get the idea that they are our "right" instead of enjoying them as a special priviledge. Special occasions that happen every day are not special. We lose the joy of the very things that are meant to bring us joy.
Keep your special occasions special by spreading them out. Make the tough decision more often, then when you get to do something special it will really be special. (And as an added bonus the bankbook will balance, the housework will get done, and you'll be happier with the scale...most of the time.)
