Some of my favourite people just announced they are having their first baby.
Pretty exiting stuff.
They are a great couple who are far from perfect but when I look at their lives they seem to be trying to live according to God's word and wisdom.
The thing is, not everything works out for them.
They have stressful days.
They have crappy days.
They have "up" and "down" days like everyone else. They have their share of trials.
But they do their best to live according to God's wisdom.
They listen to godly advice. They try to honour their parents. They do their best to steward their money for God's glory. They are plugged into and serving in their local church. They work hard at their jobs even when it's no fun at all.
They do the hard things that many people I know simply don't do because...well, because it's hard.
Here's the awesome thing. The principles of wisdom in God's Word really work. I get a birds eye view of a lot of people's lives. The principles hold true. Do things God's way and things work out better.
So whether your an atheist, some other religion or a Christian. If you just took the book of proverbs and paid attention to it you could save yourself a TON of pain. You could get yourself a lot more joy.
Not that your life would be perfect or easy. In fact, in some ways it would be a whole lot harder. But I tell ya...it would be better.
Proverbs 1:3 (About The Book of Proverbs)"Their purpose is to teach people to live disciplined and successful lives, to help them do what is right, just, and fair.
Proverbs 8:14 (Wisdom speaking) "Common sense and success belong to me."
Joshua 1:8 "Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do."
