Fully Alive

The work of God is to redeem the image of God in every human being.

When we live apart from God's plan we die. Physically, emotionally, relationally, spiritually.
When we live according to God's plan we come alive by His Spirit.

Holiness is really becoming more "whole", more of who you really are.

Each of us has a "true self" (us the way we were intended to be, in the image of God, beautiful, alive, joyful, peaceful etc.) and a "false self" (us the way our carnal nature and this world pull us).

Don't believe the lie that your life will be more full without God and His ways. Every temptation is drawing you with the power of desires. It is making you think that you want something. But the truth is that many things that seem desirable are poisonous and if you could see them for what they are you would detest them rather than desiring them.

Sanctification (changing to be more fully alive...more who we were intended to be) happens as we recognize lies and replace them with truth. When we realize the truth, our desires change. For example, if you thought you were looking at a wonderful steak on a BBQ and you were hungry, you would desire it. But if you discovered the truth that it was a cow patty you would no longer desire it. And if you thought you were looking at a piece of worthless coal but then you realized that it was the most valuable diamond in the world your desires for it would change. Realizing the truth changes our desires. Changing our desires changes what we invest in (sow into). What we invest in (our time, energy, etc.) determines what harvest we reap. Life or death.

God is in the business of making men and women more fully alive.

The work of God is to redeem the image of God in every human being.

Galatians 6:7-9
7 Don’t be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant. 8 Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit. 9 So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.
