Choose Ahead = Choosing Better

Choose ahead of time, when you are in your right mind, your emotions aren’t running wild, you are not tired and your desires for immediate gratification aren’t in charge. Humans are notoriously bad at spur of the moment decisions, influenced by short-term gains we make poor choices that result in long term loss. The power for making great decisions is in pre-making them.

You can practice choosing ahead by looking ahead - (the long road). Every choice you make is a seed you sow, you will reap a harvest (and harvests are usually 10fold or more!).

Moses made a great choice by looking ahead. “He chose to share the oppression of God’s people instead of enjoying the fleeting pleasures of sin.” (Heb 11:25)  Why did he make that choice? Look at the next verse. Heb 11:26 “He valued suffering in the Messiah's camp far greater than Egyptian wealth because he was looking ahead, anticipating the payoff.”

Looking ahead gives you the ability to endure hardship now with a good attitude - even choose sacrifice now for a better future. Think about how you choose what to eat, when and how to exercise, financial choices, relational choices, etc.."Without a vision the people cast off restraint." Choosing ahead allows you to choose with vision rather than choosing in the moment.

Choose ahead means making the choice when you are at your optimum place for making best choice and making the choice with your vision for the future in mind.
