We've Got Mail

Our church is currently doing a series called, "We've Got Mail". It is based around the letters in the Book of Revelation chapters 2 and 3. What I have loved about it is the sense that God is speaking directly to us. Too much of study has no sense of expectation. No sense that things will change for me after I have studied. Studying God's Word must be different. It must be with a sense that we are encountering the Divine. That we are meeting up with the God of the Universe and that He has something to say. Studying for studying's sake is fine but it is not the way we are invited to approach the scriptures. Let us study God's Word to encounter God!

"He that has an ear let him hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches." Rev 2,3

John 5:38-40 (New International Version)

(38) nor does his word dwell in you, for you do not believe the one he sent. (39) You diligently study[a] the Scriptures because you think that by them you possess eternal life. These are the Scriptures that testify about me, (40) yet you refuse to come to me to have life.
